Feng Shui Your Own Home | Step 2 | Balance Yin and Yang
Lesson 2.1.2
Widen a Narrow Hallway
In the previous lesson you learned how to deal with the excessive length of a hallway. In this lesson you will learn how to deal with the excessive narrowness of a hallway.
If you have a hallway in your home, it is likely a narrow one and needs to be cured. Narrow spaces create a yin imbalance in a home. To review information on yin/yang proportions and the meaning of yin and yang please go to our previous lesson: shortening a long hallway.
Cure a narrow hallway by placing a mirror, an image with long distance perspective, or both on the side (long) walls of the hallway.
Take a look at these two photographs of a hallway that has not been cured and the same hallway after it has been cured.
UNCURED HALLWAY
CURED HALLWAY
Notice how in the photo on the right hand side the mirror creates the impression that the hallway is wider than what it actually is by reflecting part of the family room at the end of the hallway.
You can use a hand or a piece of paper to alternatively cover one photo to see if you can perceive the energetic difference.
Remember: Never place a mirror at the end of a hallway. Only place mirrors on the side walls.
Remember: Do not place a mirror where it would duplicate an eyesore.
The same principles apply to correct any spaces in your home that are too narrow: place mirrors or images that have long distance perspective on the long walls of the room. Images with long distance perspective are those that give you the impression of seeing things in the distance, usually landscapes or images with very small drawings and soft hues. Never place a mirror on the short walls of a narrow area, hallway or otherwise, as this increases the imbalance in the room.

I searched Amazon.com so you wouldn't have to...
I have searched Amazon.com for Feng Shui correct mirrors that can be used to widen a narrow hallway. In doing this search I used special filters to make sure no bad Feng Shui mirrors would pop up. (please ignore the context in which you see the mirrors photographed and instead visualize them addressing your Feng Shui need).
If you already have a mirror that is feng shui correct, use what you have, otherwise consider the following:
