The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® School

How is the Nine Steps to Feng Shui Different from Other Feng Shui Schools?

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® School was started by Moni Castaneda in response to all the confusion prevalent in Feng Shui during the 1990's.

Moni observed that there were lots of contradictions in the various sources and schools of Feng Shui, so she set out to find out the truth about Feng Shui.

The question was, "how to find the truth about Feng Shui?"

In order to answer this question and to separate supersitions from true knowldege, Moni engaged the help of a practitioner of Acupuncture.

Feng Shui and Acupuncture both share the same philosophical basis, but whereas you could argue how these principles should be applied to the space, when dealing with the human body, you know when knowledge is right or wrong because people either get better or they get worse.

With the use of Acupunture as a reference and her six year degree in Architecture from the Central University of Ecuador (that's were Moni was born), Moni developed a new way to practice Feng Shui.

How to find the truth about Feng shui?

Moni set out to find out what
true Feng Shui was and came
up with the Nine Steps to
Feng Shui® System.

By looking at Feng Shui as Acupunture for the Space, Moni learned the principles behind Feng Shui and created a system that does not only identify the best Feng Shui knowledge we can use in our modern culture, but organizes that knowledge in a way that can be easily learned, remembered and applied.

This system is sequential – it makes sense because it follows the sequence of creation, providing a effective blueprint to live a happy life. This blueprint comes from being able to understand the ebb and flow of Universal winds and currents.

When you understand the nature of life – this ebb and flow of the Universal winds and currents – you become able to tune in to these energies and synchronize your actions in a way that rides with the flow of life, always seeking your Highest Good and the Highest Good of all those around you.

Ancient Feng Shui masters figured out, many years ago, what these Universal winds and currents were and how they operated. More importantly, they figured out what the areas of life that a person needed would to tend to in order to be happy, healthy, prosperous and free were.

These areas of life were called "Life Aspirations," more commonly known today as the Feng Shui Nine Life Areas.

All Feng Shui schools recognize the importance of the Life Areas, but our school is the only one that teaches you what other aspects of life need to be in place before you can really improve your life areas.

Before we go on, check out the Nine Life Areas below:

  The Nine Life Areas

  1. Career, Life Mission and Individuality

  2. Marriage, Relationships and Partnerships

  3. Health, Family and Community

  4. Wealth, Prosperity and Self Worth

  5. Center of Good Fortune and Gratitude

  6. Spirituality, Helpful People and Travel

  7. Children, Creativity and Fun

  8. Wisdom, Self Knowledge and Rest

  9. Fame, Reputation and Social Life

The Life Areas are very important, but before you can work to improve your life areas, you need to make sure that the conditions for happiness and health have been established, and in my system we do this by following a simple step-by-step plan that builds on itself, so that things get easier as you progress.

To create an environment where happiness becomes more possible, easier and stable, we follow the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System that I created. It is a step-by-step, by-the-numbers system that is easy to follow, learn and apply. As you will see below, in this system we do not enhance the nine life areas until we get to step 8, and there are good reasons for it.

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui

  1. Complete the Floor Plan

  2. Balance Extremes (too much or too little)

  3. Achieve a Healthy Flow of Chi (Life Force)

  4. Work with Nature

  5. Harmonize the Elements (colors, shapes, materials)

  6. Work with the Language of Space (prevent self-sabotage)

  7. Heal and Declutter

  8. Enhance the Nine Life Areas

  9. Power Position

Most other schools start by addressing the life areas and clutter, many times eliciting self sabotage or healing crises.

By following the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System, we become more able to: 1) Know who we are. 2) Know what we want. 3) Know what will make us happy, and 4) What actions to take to get there.

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System organizes Feng Shui information in a way that can be easily understood and used.

We address only one step at a time because completing each step makes it easier to complete the next.

The step order is not arbitrary, it responds to the laws or principles of Natural Order that Lao-Tzu wrote about in the book Tao Te Ching. Although Lao Tze is believed to have written this book in the sixth century BC, this knowledge is thousands of year old, and was originated by Feng Shui traditions. Feng Shui predates all other types of East Asian wisdom.

Our Nine Steps follow the Order of Creation, thus they are very effective and make sense.

Other Feng Shui schools, called the Compass Schools, rely too heavily on astrology and numerology, giving these arts more importance than the traditional Feng Shui knowledge. These schools believe that complicated mathematical formulas and the magnetic directions are the basis of creating good environments for a person.

Some of the schools of Feng Shui that have developed or taken root in the West, on the other hand, rely too much on the consultant's intuition, and thus results are not consistent.

Most schools focus on the 9 life areas, decluttering, and furniture placement. We follow an order that allows us to stabilize the energy of a home before peforming these tasks. For example, a Nine Steps to Feng Shui® consultant would not suggest that a client declutter in the first session. We know that for decluttering to be painless and effective, first we need to help the client feel safer and more at ease in their space. We address self sabotage (step 6) before we tackle clutter (step 7). It makes sense!

Clients of the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System report integrating changes into their lives with more ease and grace, no healing crises, and no self-sabotage. Changes for the better become more permanent.

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System makes it easy to know what to do first, and how to follow up.

Graduates of our program report becoming more able to understand all other Feng Shui texts once they understand our system. They also become able to discern between true and false Feng Shui knowledge.

South American Architect and artist Monica P. Castaneda has developed the Nine Steps to Feng Shui System®, a method that organizes the complex information of Feng Shui "By-The-Numbers" so it is easy to learn, apply, and teach.

My name is María Feliza and I have known Monica since she lived in Ecuador. Several years after she left for the USA, I had the opportunity to attend a Feng Shui Seminar with her.

We have been in contact through internet & when I received the great offer of her online Feng Shui Course I did not doubt a second.

This online course gave me a mature, integrated & actual knowledge on Feng Shui. I have been able to ask her questions on the topics of the course applied to my home, and always received complete video online answers!! This is one of the fabulous benefits we have!!

I have applied the necesary suggestions & cures on my own home and everyone who visits me always say: "Wow, what a nice place, so welcoming, I feel SO well here!!!"

If I have made my own place a harmonious, peacefull, beautiful place to live in, it is thanks to you, to your knowledge & permanent hard work to share with all of us.

Thanks always dear Moni.

Dear Moni,

Thank you so much for offering your Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Online Course.

It is so much easier to learn about it and work on the things I have learned, one step at a time... I am so grateful that I found your site. You make it simple and easy to understand.

I like being able to review the prior videos as well.

Many Thanks,

Robin R., Montana

I loved the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Online Course.

This program offers so many opportunities for a novice as well as anyone well read in the art of Feng Shui.

The course offers the viewer the opportunity to learn at your own pace. If you don't understand you can re-watch or Moni is always available and approachable with questions.

The best part of the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Online Course is it advocates making small changers don't have to repaint your whole house!

One of the best things I learned is you can't just make changes for the bagua area but also take into account what the purpose of the room is.

You also get to learn from other people's challenges and that really helped in my understanding of Feng Shui.

While the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Online Course makes small changes it also explains concepts that I never learned from other Feng Shui books or practitioners, so the small changes have a big impact.

I whole heartedly endorse the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Online Course for anyone that wants to gain a greater understanding of a complex and fascinating art.
